My life this summer has been filled with work, weddings, baby showers, and engagement parties, and I have been having such a hard time keeping up with everything I need to do! I remember growing up summers were so lazy, and now I can’t seem to find a moment to myself! One of the things I have actually missed the most is my daily blogging… it’s crazy how out of wack I feel personally when I don’t have this regular outlet!
It is officially as hot as the inside of a volcano in Houston, and I dreaming of my week away in Sonoma. I last left you with part 1 of this amazing Superior Farms pasture tour, but now I get to tell you about even more things we got to see and do! From a beautiful food and wine pairing dinner in the Russian River Valley, to herding sheep down a mountain with a 4 year old giving the ranch dogs commands, […]
Let me take you back to my state of mind the day I made this recipe: It was one of those mornings where I spent 3 hours on foodgawker searching for sloppy joes (because who doesn’t do that right?), endlessly salivating at all the photos I saw on my screen, and all I could think about was when the hell the clock was going to strike 3 so I could go buy the ingredients and get these in ma belly! No seriously […]
I apologize for disappearing these past couple weeks, but if you have been following me via Instagram or Snapchat, you know I have a pretty good explanation. I got to experience one of the most incredible blog trips I have ever been on, and I’ve had a bit of a hard time adjusting back to reality. That, and after looking at all the photos I took from the trip and thinking about all the things I learned, I had no idea how […]
I have never been one of those super organized people where I grocery shop Sunday for the entire week, it just doesn’t happen that way. I usually scour the internet daily according to my cravings, go to the store, workout, then run home and make dinner, take photos of the dinner for my blog, and finally, eat. Usually by this time my feet are tired, I am drained of all energy, and just ready to plop on the couch or my […]
I’m staring out the window right now wondering if it will ever stop raining in Houston. The wind is pushing the rain sideways right now, it’s 9:00 am and literally looks like midnight outside, but hey, at least I have a hot pot of coffee going beside me so life isn’t that bad :). I feel for all the people in Texas lately, we just cannot catch a break from all this rain and flooding! Myself included – the wind blew […]
I am so excited about this post because not only is this matzo fried chicken recipe uh-mazing, but also, I am sharing quite possibly the coolest giveaway ever – a 7 day / 6 night French dessert and pastry adventure with Le Calabash in France!!!!!! That’s right, your eyes do not deceive you. In collaboration with some of my favorite bloggers, we are giving you a chance to win a week culinary vacation in France! Keep reading below to enter!
One of my favorite things about blogging is that I get incredible opportunities to work with different brands and bloggers that I admire and respect, and I had an incredible trip last week where I got to do just that! Myself, along with 22 other bloggers, spent the day in the serene Hollywood hills, enjoying various Signature products, and bonding over what we all love most – food! When I was approached to attend the Albertsons Companies launch of their […]
It’s only April, but I am craving hatch peppers to be in season so badly right now! If you read my blog regularly, you know the two things I am obsessed with above all else are eggplant and hatch peppers – and, as if a sign from the food Gods above, when I opened my freezer door this morning guess what fell out? All my frozen hatch peppers from August!! Oh yes, this was a sign that whatever I cooked today had to […]
I am writing this post as I am about to head out on one of my most exciting blog trips yet. Before I get into where I’m going, let me give you a little background on this recipe. My cooking style has changed tremendously over the past year, heavily influenced by my discovery of different types of food I never knew existed before – aka my boyfriend’s mom. In fact, everything in my life has turned a 360 this past year – […]
Sunday is the day I tell myself, “Okay Lizzy, this is the week you are going to be amazing, not drink any wine, and eat freaking healthy and lose some lbs.” So, with the help of a few pots of coffee, I get all my food prep done for my workday lunches, and some dinners. This week I was dying to change up my breakfast routine, so we made these really simple quiches and they turned out great.
Despite my tendency to fawn over time-consuming, impressive, and overly complicated dishes, I sometimes find my way back to the simplest of recipes which renew my faith in the idea that without a doubt, fresh ingredients is really all we need to create something beautiful in the kitchen. Today was one of those days. I love sharing simple recipes that take virtually no time to whip up because lets face it, the average person doesn’t have time to spend 3 hours making some […]
